So, although your legs are warm, the entire room is still cold. That is what makes people lazy and don't want to get out.Plus, if you have both kotatsu and cat, you will know how they go well together. The cat will stay in the kotatsu all day and never leave. "cat and kotatsu" is a subjet we often joke about. It's probably a thing only Japanese can understand.

ReverendSyn,You still don't understand.If you experience kotatsu, you will understand how it makes people lazy and don't want to get out of it.This is a subject most Japanese share and can easily relate to.In Japan traditionaly our heating appliance is very limited copmpare to other part of the world where people warm up entire room using fire place or stove.But we only have things like "kotatsu" or "hibachi" which you can only warm up specific body part.

Im quite aware what a kotatsu is. I watch anime. Still doesnt change the fact that the cat would only have to get out for what, a second? Three? Then get back under.There. Problem solved. Hardly rocket science. If Im in an electric blanket and need to pee Im not about to stay there and strain to hold it in. I get out, pee, get back in. I dont care HOW cold it is. Sometimes you simply gotta do the unpleasant and inconvenient stuff. That's just life.

ReverendSyn,First, you have to understand what "kotatsu" is to get the humor.It's a　table with blanket and electric heater.He didn't want to get out of the kotatsu, because it's cold outside.That's why this video is named "Kotatsu neko" which means "kotatsu cat".
